Our treatments
Your guide towards long-lasting oral and whole-body health.
While the following services have been broken down into categories – there is only one product, and it is dentistry. We do not think in terms of individual procedures. We take into account all factors – your preferences, your goals, your overall health, as well as the state of your mouth – and construct a comprehensive dental treatment plan supported by the best available evidence. Dentistry has evolved into a complex part of overall health care, and below are some of the disciplines involved. Let us be your guide towards long-lasting oral and whole-body health.
A smile makeover may be as simple as whitening or can be more extensive including gum treatments, surgery, dental restorations, bite correction and replacement of missing teeth. This is where all the abilities of dentistry come into play – our job is to coordinate your care so things are done in the proper order and manner.
Preventive dentistry is the most important discipline listed here, and involves all aspects of dentistry: gum/bone, teeth, jaw joints, airway, and aesthetics. Regular hygiene and examinations allow us to pick up on things that are or will become an issue – allowing you to maintain health and avoid disease (ultimately at a lower cost).
Restorative dentistry generally fits within two main categories – cavities and structural. Cavity problems typically involve bacteria and lifestyle factors such as diet and home hygiene. Structural problems can start for many different reasons and often result in fractures. Although these are common problems, we’d much rather teach you how to avoid them entirely.
While people are familiar with cavities and gum disease, bite and jaw joint concerns are not as well understood. To put it simply, managing the bite involves looking at both jaw joints, the teeth, muscles, and ultimately finding a position that your brain likes. Failure to do so can result in a multitude of problems.
Proper airway function is essential to growth and development of the face and dental arches. We have myofunctional therapists who can also coordinate your care with other specialists such as orthodontists, ENT surgeons, and speech therapists. We all need to breathe, and breathe properly!
For those who don’t want to white-knuckle their appointments or who avoid the dentist out of anxiety, we offer a range of sedation options that can make you love seeing the dentist again. This can be something as simple as nitrous oxide sedation for children or complete general anesthesia for the very complex individuals.
Emergencies happen. Pain, fractures, infection, trauma – we’ve seen lots, although luckily it’s not an everyday thing. With no judgment, our goal is to get you out of whatever the problem is. A small chip on a front tooth is not typically an emergency, but if it’s your wedding day you better believe it is.
